Executive Producer : Christina MacGillivray

2024, Malaysia

Christina MacGillivray led the research and campaign strategy for Dari Dapur, a documentary series broadcast on national television in Malaysia that brought migrants, refugees and local Malaysians together over home-cooked meals.

The documentary series was grounded in multi-method research commissioned by the UN Human Rights Office. Following this research, Christina MacGillivray oversaw the Dari Dapur documentary series, part of the UN Human Rights' global #StandUp4Migrants initiative, in Malaysia. The series fosters understanding through shared meals between migrants and local influential Malaysians, encouraging mutual respect by telling personal stories. Dari Dapur aims to change the discourse on migration by highlighting the shared humanity between migrant workers, refugees, and local communities.

After its success, Christina MacGillivray authored a United Nations publication, which provides a comprehensive, eight-step methodology to apply behavioral science principles to help design impactful public narrative change campaigns on human rights.
